NEET को लेकर विवाद के चरम पर पहुंचने के बीच शिक्षा मंत्रालय ने राष्ट्रीय परीक्षण एजेंसी द्वारा आयोजित UGC-NET परीक्षा को इसके एक दिन बाद ही रद्द कर दिया है। 9 लाख से अधिक उम्मीदवारों ने इस परीक्षा में भाग लिया था, जो विश्वविद्यालयों और कॉलेजों में सहायक प्रोफेसर पदों के लिए और जूनियर रिसर्च फेलोशिप के लिए पात्रता निर्धारित करने के लिए आयोजित की जाती है। शिक्षा मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग-राष्ट्रीय पात्रता परीक्षा (यूजीसी-नेट) की जून की परीक्षा मंगलवार को देश भर में दो पालियों में ओएमआर (पेन और पेपर) मोड में आयोजित की गई। इसमें कहा गया है, "19 जून, 2024 को विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (यूजीसी) को गृह मंत्रालय के तहत भारतीय साइबर अपराध समन्वय केंद्र (आई4सी) की राष्ट्रीय साइबर अपराध खतरा विश्लेषण इकाई से परीक्षा के संबंध में कुछ इनपुट प्राप्त हुए थे। इन इनपुट से प्रथम दृष्टया संकेत मिलता है कि उक्त परीक्षा की सत्यनिष्ठा से समझौता किया गया है। मंत्रालय ने कहा कि वह "परीक्षा प्रक्रिया की पारदर्शिता और पवित्रता के उच्चतम स्तर को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए" जून 2024 की परीक्षा को रद्द करने की घोषणा कर रहा है और यह परीक्षा नए सिरे से आयोजित की जाएगी, जिसकी तारीख बाद में साझा की जाएगी। परीक्षा का पेपर लीक होने की खबरें आई हैं, लेकिन मंत्रालय ने इसकी पुष्टि नहीं की है। उसने सिर्फ इतना कहा है कि मामले को जांच के लिए केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो को सौंप दिया गया है। यूजीसी-नेट प्रत्येक वर्ष दो बार, जून और दिसंबर में आयोजित की जाती है। मंगलवार को यूजीसी के अध्यक्ष एम जगदीश कुमार ने एक्स पर पोस्ट किया था, "आज, एनटीए ने (i) 'जूनियर रिसर्च फेलोशिप के पुरस्कार और सहायक प्रोफेसर के रूप में नियुक्ति', (ii) 'सहायक प्रोफेसर के रूप में नियुक्ति और पीएचडी में प्रवेश' और (iii) 'केवल पीएचडी में प्रवेश' के लिए योग्य उम्मीदवारों का निर्धारण करने के लिए यूजीसी-नेट जून 2024 को ओएमआर (पेन और पेपर) मोड में दो (02) अलग-अलग शिफ्टों (09:30 पूर्वाह्न से 12:30 दोपहर और 03:00 अपराह्न से 06:00 अपराह्न) में सफलतापूर्वक आयोजित किया है।"उन्होंने लिखा था, "देश भर के 317 शहरों में 1,205 परीक्षा केंद्रों पर 11,21,225 उम्मीदवारों के लिए परीक्षा आयोजित की गई थी। कुल पंजीकृत उम्मीदवारों में से लगभग 81% उम्मीदवार परीक्षा में शामिल हुए। सभी उम्मीदवारों को शुभकामनाएं।" स्नातक चिकित्सा पाठ्यक्रमों के लिए NEET-UG 2024 परीक्षा में करीब 24 लाख छात्र शामिल हुए थे, जिसका आयोजन भी राष्ट्रीय परीक्षण एजेंसी (NTA) द्वारा 5 मई को किया जाता है। परिणाम निर्धारित समय से 10 दिन पहले 4 जून को घोषित किए गए, लेकिन प्रश्नपत्र लीक होने और 1,500 से अधिक छात्रों को ग्रेस मार्क्स दिए जाने के आरोपों के बाद विरोध प्रदर्शन शुरू हो गए। सुप्रीम कोर्ट सहित कई अदालतों में मामले भी दर्ज किए गए, जिसने NTA पर कड़ी कार्रवाई की है।एनईईटी के संबंध में मंत्रालय के बयान में कहा गया है, "ग्रेस मार्क्स से संबंधित मुद्दे को पहले ही पूरी तरह से सुलझा लिया गया है। पटना में परीक्षा के आयोजन में कथित कुछ अनियमितताओं के संबंध में, बिहार पुलिस की आर्थिक अपराध इकाई से विस्तृत रिपोर्ट मांगी गई है। सरकार इस रिपोर्ट के प्राप्त होने पर आगे की कार्रवाई करेगी। इसमें कहा गया है, "सरकार परीक्षाओं की शुचिता सुनिश्चित करने और छात्रों के हितों की रक्षा के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। यह दोहराया जाता है कि इस मामले में संलिप्त पाए जाने वाले किसी भी व्यक्ति/संगठन के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
